Little Eagles provides a safe environment for children ages 6 weeks through 1st day of Kindergarten. Assistant teachers are responsible for assisting the teacher with the education and care services. Tasks may include but are not limited to: helping with the daily routine, cleaning, transitioning, implementing activities and curriculum.
Must be able to meet the DHS Rule 3 Assistant teacher education and experience requirements as stated below or any combination of:
High school diploma or commissioner of education-selected high school equivalency certification plus 2,080 hours worked as an aide or student intern OR
Minnesota license as a family day care or group family day care provider plus 2,080 hours worked as a licensed family day care or group family day care provider OR
Diploma from Association Montessori Internationale or preprimary credential, primary diploma, or provisional certificate from the American Montessori Society plus 520 hours worked as an aide or student intern OR
Minnesota technical institute certificate as a Child Development Assistant plus 520 hours worked as an aide or student intern OR
Two years full-time postsecondary education from a college or university plus 1,040 hours worked as an aide or student intern OR
Child Development Associate credential, center based or for family day care, from the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition OR
Baccalaureate degree in any field from an accredited college or university OR
Certificate or credential for a two year program in child development or early childhood education at a Minnesota community college or technical college OR
License from the Minnesota Department of Children, Families, and Learning for Prekindergarten Associate
Must have a desire to work with children and be willing to play with children as well as supervise them. MUST BE FLEXIBLE. There may be times that staff will be asked to work in another classroom if a classroom is short on staff and its needed to remain in ratio with kids. At this time, we have 3 openings. 1 full time staff in our Toddler room. Your hours would be 8:00am to 5:00pm. 1 full time staff for Infant Room, Hours would be 8:00 to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. 1 Full Time staff in Transitional Preschool Room 8:00 to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Part Time positions are also a possibility. Ongoing training is provided. If you bring the passion we will provide a supportive training environment for you!
